Chapter 7

Chapter 7 You Know What They Say: Six Heads Are Better Than Three. (But When You Only Have Three, You Make It Work!) Harper and Theo explained their theory to the team, but Morgan could barely listen. This was the worst news ever! Playing Minecraft with his friends was the one good thing left after everything else changed. Now he couldn't even do that. "Why is this happening?" he asked. "Why can't we get back in?"

Theo shrugged. "It has to be another one of the Evoker King's changes. I can't see why he'd think it was a good idea, though." Everyone was sitting at their computers, headsets on, so Ash and Eek could hear what they were talking about. Morgan sighed. "So if you two are right, our best chance at fixing this is still to get to the End. In a week. With only half of our team."

"We think so," Harper said. "Who has been to the End before? And fought the Ender Dragon?" Harper, Theo, and Morgan said yes. "Not me," said Ash. Jodi and Po shook their heads. "I USUALLY PLAY IN CREATIVE MODE," Jodi explained. "And I'm a busy man," Po said, shrugging. Morgan groaned. Everybody who had been to the End before was kicked out of the game! This isn't fair, he thought. He'd beaten the Ender Dragon a dozen times. He'd made it to the credits by himself! And now because of one hostile mob, he couldn't play and he couldn't help his friends. They needed him! Didn't they? Ash could tell the mood of the group was turning sour, even over headset. She tried to focus on the problem. "We've got five days, including today, to get to the End. If we don't…something bad might happen to Eek when the server gets taken away. That means we need a plan."

"We can make a plan!" Theo said. "But student clubs are allowed to stay until five o'clock, so we have over an hour left." Harper nodded. "Morgan, can you answer questions and keep an eye on everybody while we figure it out?" He didn't want to. He thought about defeating the Ender Dragon again. He wanted to play. But if Harper and Theo didn't want his help, then babysitting was the best he could do. "Sure. Whatever."

Everybody could tell he was upset. And nobody knew what to say. After a quiet moment, Eek finally spoke. "I AM NOT SURE WHAT IS GOING ON," he said. "You do not need to go to all this trouble for me." "Yes, we do," Jodi replied. "You're part of our team. We're not leaving you behind."

Yeah, just me, Morgan thought. "But I am the cause of your problems. If it was not for me, you would be enjoying your game like normal." "IT'S NOT SO SIMPLE," Jodi said. "We all make mistakes, and we all end up in bad situations. When you're part of a team, it's everybody's job to help." "All this makes my head hurt!" Po said. "Me too," Ash admitted. "Jodi's right, Eek. Let us help you. We want to."
