CHAPTER 17 You might be asking, "How did he do it? How did the man in the suit and sunglasses devise such a brilliantly villainous scheme to get two cute and innocent creatures to fall so easily into a trap?!"

Five days before, Edgar had arrived home from school to discover a package addressed Co him. Inside was a drone with a note saying "Use me to Tp Michael Gornei's house!" To most kids, this would have seemed sketchy, but when you are Edgar, anything that sounde fun and mischievous will override any suspicions.

The man in the suit and sunglasses had gathered enough information about the squirrels by this point to know that Merle had a soft spot for gadget. Any squirrel that would build his own raft to sail down the Jordan or take so quickly, A roller-skating would surely love to operate a drone and any squirrel adventurous enough to explore an uncharted cave would surely figure out a way to fly in a drone and surely it wouldn't be long before flying indoors wasn't good enough and the squirrel would venture outside simply put the man in the suit and sunglasses was counting on Merle not being able to help himself.

The only question that remained was how to get Merle a drone. It would be too suspicious just to deliver one to Michael's house, but if the man in the suit and sunglasses gave one to Edgar first. No one would deduce the drone was from him. And once Michael knew someone had given Edgar a drone, the man could pepper mural with drones, and no one would be the wiser.

The man in the suit and sunglasses plan had worked perfectly. Merle's lack of self-control had allowed the man to nab not only Merle, but Pearl too.
