21 Spying on Dinosaurs

James opened his birthday present from his family. "This is the best telescope ever! Thanks so much!" he said. "You're very welcome," said Dad smiling happily. "We had a feeling we'd found you something special that you'd really love." James couldn't wait to try out his new telescope. He'd been hoping to get a telescope when he turned six, but he didn't. He was hoping again when he turned seven, but no luck. Now that he'd turned eight, he finally had what he'd always dreamed of. James had a special telescope of his own. James put his shiny new telescope up to his eye. "Hey Dad, you look like a very happy giant," he said. "Here, you have a look, Molly," said James to his little sister. Molly put James' telescope up to her eye and started to look around the room. It wasn't long before she found the family pets. "I spy with my little eye... Oh wow!" said Molly pointing in surprise. "It looks like there's a really large tiger over there and an extra big whale too. I wish I was eight, then I could have a telescope of my own for my birthday too," said Molly sadly. "Cheer-up Sist" said James kindly. "Remember, we're a sharing family. "I'll let you have lots of turns."

James was so excited. "Can we go on a special adventure with the telescope?" he asked his parents. "As long as you are careful, and as long as you look after each other," replied Dad. "We don't want you two to get lost! You can have a fun game of I Spy..." "Yay, let's go outside and see what we can see!" James said to Molly in an excited voice. It wasn't long until Molly and James had everything they needed for their adventure. They walked off together happily, with Molly ahead leading the way, and James following behind, looking through his shiny new, birthday telescope.

They hadnt gone very far from home, when James suddenly shouted, "Hey, look over there! I can see something in the trees. I can't believe my eyes. It's something strange! I spy a dinosaur!" James and Molly hurried ahead to the place in the trees, where James had spied the dinosaur.

"Where's that dinosaur now?" asked Molly. "I think it must've run away because all I can see is this tiny beetle in the grass," she said, answering her own question.

Soon, it was Molly's turn to play I Spy... It didn't take long for her to spy something special. "I spy two large dinosaurs on a hill," she said. "Let's go! Follow me," Molly shouted excitedly.
