12 Invitations

Parrot was feeling bored. "Nothing exciting ever happens," he grumbled to himself. "Every day is the same. I just eat berries, fly through treetops, and clean my wings. I wish something different would happen." Parrot thought hard until he had a good idea. He flew quickly to tell his plan to his friend Max Monkey. "I have a message to tell you," said Parrot to Max Monkey. "We are going to have a party for all the animals in the jungle. There will be games and tricks and delicious food for everyone."

"What a good idea!" cried Max Monkey. "I will help you with the plans. What job would you like me to do?" "Could you invite the other animals?" asked Parrot. "You could swing through the trees to tell them the time and the place." "I will ask Turtle first," said Max Monkey. "He is sure to come to a party." "I have an exciting message for you," Max Monkey told Turtle. "Parrot is planning a party for all the animals in the jungle. It will be at the waterhole at one o'clock on Monday next week." "What shall I bring?" asked Turtle. "Bring a friend and some party food," answered Max. "I'll invite Owl," said Turtle. "He'll know what to bring."

"Owl, I have a message to tell you," said Turtle. "Parrot is having a party for the jungle animals. It is going to be at the waterhole at two o'clock on Tuesday next week. We can invite a friend, and we must all bring something nice to eat." "I will ask Giraffe to come," said Owl. "She will know the nicest leaves to bring."

"Today I have a special message for you," Owl told Giraffe. "There will be a party at the waterhole next Wednesday at three o'clock. You need to bring some food and a friend. Who will you invite?" "I know Tiger would like to come," said Giraffe. "He will think of something delicious to bring."

"Tiger, I have an exciting message," said Giraffe. "We are invited to a party next Thursday at four o'clock. Come to the waterhole for fun and tricks and games! You should invite a friend and bring some party food." "Squirrel is sure to like parties," said Tiger. "I will ask him to bring some delicious nuts to share."
