14 Paper Chains

It is fun to make paper chains at home or at school. You will need paper, scissors, pens, and glue. There are two kinds of paper chains. Do you know how to make one with circles or rings?

First, cut some strips of paper. Make one strip into a circle and stick the ends together. Next, put another strip through the circle and stick its ends together. Put another strip through the second circle. Then stick more and more of these rings together until you have made a long chain.

Would you like to make a caterpillar? You can cut ten strips of green paper and make them into a chain. That's the caterpillar's body. Then cut a round shape and draw a face on it. Stick the caterpillar's face onto one end of the chain.

Do you know how to make another kind of paper chain? First, cut a long strip of paper. Fold the strip in half, and then fold it in half again. Next, draw a big flower on the top piece of paper. Make the flower touch the sides of the paper. Cut around the picture, but don't cut it near the folds. Open up your paper chain.

You can fold white paper to make a chain of snowmen. First, draw a fat snowman on the top piece of paper. Make his tummy touch the folded sides of the paper. Cut around the picture, but don't cut near the snowman's tummy! Open up your chain and draw faces on all the snowmen.
