5 Pass It On

At Dan's birthday party the children played a game called Pass It On. First, Dan's father showed the children a big blue box. It had six messages on pieces of paper. He gave the box to Grace. "There's a message on the first piece of paper," he said. "Read it."

Grace read the first message. "This is for the one who can whistle the loudest. Show me who can whistle," she said. Everybody tried to whistle loudly. "Sam is the loudest," said Grace, and she gave the box to him.

Sam read the message on the second piece of paper. "For the one with the biggest smile," he read. "Show me your smiles." All the children smiled big smiles. "Beth's smile is the biggest," said Sam, and he passed the box to her.

Beth read the third message. "This is for the one who can sing the best song," she said. One by one, the children sang a song. "Your song is the best, Isaac. You can have the box," said Beth.

Isaac's message said, "To the one who can tell us the funniest joke." Ha, ha, ha! All the children told funny jokes. Isaac laughed and laughed at Zoe's funny joke, and he gave her the box.
