23 The Fish Catcher

The Fish Catcher written by Jack Gabolinscy illustrated by Robin Van't Hof

When Theo wanted to make a fish catcher, he looked around for things to make it with. He found a laptop to be its brain. He found some things to make it see with, and he found things which would make it go fast.

When Theo looked in the bathroom he found the bathtub. "It will make a good trap," he thought. He saw the bath mat. It would make a good trapdoor. He found an old bone in the garden. The fish would like the bone.

Theo put the fish catcher together. It was very big. It went all the way from his bedroom to the bathroom. He knew his fish catcher would catch a lot of fish. He was happy.

It was time to try the new fish catcher out. Theo wrote "Go to the backyard pond," on the laptop. Then he pushed "Go". The fish catcher banged and whistled and made funny noises. Then it was gone. "Splash!" It landed in the backyard pond.

Theo watched the fish catcher on the TV. It was on the bottom of the pond. The goldfish swam into the bathtub to eat the bone. They were in the trap. Theo wrote "Bring the fish catcher back home," onto the laptop. Then he pushed "Go".
