A calendar helps us to find the date of a special day. What is the date of your birthday? The date is the name of the day, the month, and the year. What is the date today?

There are 12 months in one year. A month is how long it takes for the moon to go around the earth once. The months are January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, and December.

There are seven days in a week. Can you say the names of all the days? They are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Saturday and Sunday are called the weekend because they come at the end of the week. We don't go to school on the weekend. There are different things to do on Saturday and Sunday.

A year is how long it takes the earth to go around the sun once. A year has 365 or 366 days. There are 52 weeks in a year. What year is it now? What will next year be called?
