There are many kinds of light. The sun gives us most of our light. We use sunlight to see. Animals use it to see, too. Plants use sunlight to grow and make food.

Nothing moves faster than light from the sun. It takes just 8 minutes to get to us on Earth. Light makes a shadow if it can't shine through something, like people or a wall. shadows

Light is made of 7 colors. They are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. These colors make white light when they are all mixed together, rainbow You can see the colors of white light when the sun shines through rain. It makes a rainbow.
