6 The Paper Trail

When the children went to the farm to visit Grandpa and Grandma, they always had fun. The game they liked most was the paper trail. First Grandma got a surprise ready. She put some things in a yellow box. Grandpa got some pieces of paper.

Grandpa walked all the way across the farm. He left a trail of papers, and then he hid the yellow box. "The paper trail is ready now," said Grandma. "Follow the trail to find the surprise. Ready, set, go!"

The children ran across the farm, following the trail. First they found some paper tied onto the gate. They saw the second piece of paper stuck on the roof of the shed.

The children found the third piece on the tractor seat. The next piece was tied on the fence. They followed the trail to the pond. There was some more paper in the bushes.

One boy found a big piece of paper stuck on the old scarecrow's hat. Some paper was tied onto the bridge over the river. They saw three more pieces floating away in the water.
