12 Daisy Takes a Swim

On Farmer Jim's farm, it was raining. It rained very hard for three days. There were big puddles on the ground. The rain made the river deep and full. The water in the river came up higher and higher and higher. It came over the banks of the river, and water went all over the farm. It was a big, dangerous flood!

Farmer Jim went out in the rain to look for poor Daisy the cow. He could hear her bell ringing. She was calling, "Moot moo!" There was water all around her and it was getting deeper and deeper.

Soon the water came up over the fence. It splashed all around Farmer Jim, and it was hard for him to stand up. Farmer Jim knew that this was a very dangerous flood! Daisy knew it was dangerous, too!

Splash! Suddenly, Daisy began to swim through the deep water. She was trying to swim to a little hill above the flood. Poor Farmer Jim was pushed and pulled along by the flood water. It was getting more dangerous!

As Daisy swam by, Farmer Jim put out his hands and grabbed her horns. She swam right over the top of the fence, and Farmer Jim was pulled along with her.
