FANNY'S Funny Faces FANNY WAS A girl who delighted in pulling faces. She had a huge number in her collection: The simple "gurn"...
The "Bus driver, will you please open the doors?"... The "hog"... The "flappy"... The "fish-face"... The "postbox"... The "walnut" The "I have swallowed my pencil!" The "balloon"... The "Do I need braces?" The "troll"...
It was as if her face were made of rubber and she could contort it in every way imaginable. Of course, there is nothing wrong with pulling funny faces in the privacy of your own home. To lock yourself in the bathroom, stand in front of the mirror and contort your face into something MONSTROUS is a wonderful way to spend an evening. However, Fanny took these funny faces outside to unleash them on the world. You see, Fanny loved to shock. She loved to APPAL. Most of all, she loved to HORRIFY.
One time, Fanny hid behind a hedge near the local church. There she held her breath until her face went bright red like a devil, before leaping out to shock the local vicar. "HELP!" he cried. The man was SO frightened he scrambled up the drainpipe on the side of his church and ended up clinging to the spire. He actually stayed there for THREE MONTHS.
Another time, Fanny climbed a tree in the local park. There she waited until an old lady passed underneath, walking her little dog on a lead. Fanny swung upside down with her arms folded, baring her fangs in her best "vampire" face. The poor old dear shrieked in terror. "ARGH!" Her little dog was so scared that it scuttled off, dragging its owner at speed across the grass.
