HOW DOES THE HEART WORK? The right side of your heart receives blood that has been going around your body. It sends this blood straight to your lungs. LUNGS I'm found in your chest.

The left side of your heart receives blood from your lungs, which is ready to be pumped around your body again. Every time your heart beats, it's moving your blood. I'm about the size of your fist.

WHY DOES MY BODY NEED BLOOD? Every part of your body needs blood traveling to and from it. This is because your blood carries oxygen, which is a gas we breathe into our lungs. Oxygen is all around us.
