Did you know that stars shine day and night? We do not see stars in the daytime because the star closest to us, our sun, outshines them all.

To see the night sky in all its glory, leave city lights behind. Wait for your eyes to get used to the dark. Then look up. Wow!

On most nights, you can see our moon first. Because it is so close, it seems larger than anything else. The moon's face changes every night. Sometimes it is round. Sometimes it is just a sliver.

Then there are all those twinkling stars. They twinkle because their light bounces and bumps through our atmosphere to reach us. Atmosphere

Humans have always made connect-the-dots pictures with the stars. We call those pictures constellations.
