The Mare and the Hare

A hare and a mare live on a farm. They munch on grass in the fresh air. They feel the sunshine on their fur.

This hare and mare are the greatest of pals. They share the field they live in. The mare helps the hare. The hare helps the mare, too.

People from the town like to see the hare and mare. "Why do they come to stare?" roars the mare "They do not come to stare," roars the hare.

"They come to see all the nice things we do," says the hare. "It is the first time a hare was such great pals with a mare. They do not mean any harm."

"We are the first?" asks the mare. "Then we must be like that bear in the chair. We saw it over there!" "Bears scare me," says the hare. "No this bear is nice says," the mare.
