38 The Big Mess

The Storm

Porter, a scarecrow, was in a garden. Flora looked up as clouds formed in the sky. "A storm is on the way," she warned Porter.

When there was a big storm, birds of all sorts went into the garden. Porter's chore was to scare off the crows and storks.

Flora started picking up stuff from the yard. First, she cleared the garden.

Then, she cleared the chairs off the porch. And then, she stored her sports stuff in the shed.

Soon, dark clouds blocked the Sun. Huge drops of rain poured down on Porter.
