Introduction Do you like drawing? Have you got lots of ideas? Then you could be a good cartoonist. Cartoons are jokes made from a drawing. They can make you laugh . . . and they can make you think.

Cartoons usually have pictures and words together. Some cartoons have no words at all.

Ideas Think of something that you don't like. It might be cleaning your teeth. It might be your hair. It might be helping your dad wash up. Make a joke out of it with a picture and words. Then make a joke of it without words.

Think of something that scares you. It might be the dark, or a bully, or dogs. Make a joke of it with words or without words. You could try drawing scary people wearing only long, flowery pants! Whenever they scare you, you can think of them like that and start laughing instead.

Cartoons can help you feel better about something that makes you sad. If your hamster has died, you could do something like this: Can you think of some words to go with this?
