Clare first saw the spider on Saturday. It was in the bath, trying to climb up the side. Up and up it went. . . then down. Up and up and up . . . then down again. Again and again, it got halfway up, but then - SPLOSH!

" Poor spider, I'll help you, " said Clare. She held out her hand and the spider ran up her arm, and down again, and up again. It tickled and made Clare laugh.

Then the spider did bungee jumps. Down . . . and UP. Down. . . and UP. " Wow, " said Clare. l'll take you to school on Monday. We're doing minibeasts. ”

She saw her brother. “ Charlie, come and look at my spider. "

Charlie took one look-and ran! He jumped onto his bed. “ Take that big, horrible, hairy spider away NOW! ” he yelled.
