From Tree to Book

Where do books come from? Did you know that this book started life as a tree? When a tree is felled, it becomes wood and some of this wood is used to make paper.

Did you know? Most paper comes from trees grown in sustainable forests. This means that when older trees are felled, young trees are planted to replace them.

From wood to paper The wood is loaded on to a lorry and taken to a factory called a paper mill.

The wood is put into q machine called a woodchipper and cut into woodchips.

The woodchips are taken to a machine called a digester where they are turned into a mushy mixture called pulp.
