Do you know where butterflies come from? They grow from eggs into caterpillars, then butterflies.

A mother butterfly lays some eggs in a tree like this. Then little caterpillars grow in her eggs.

The caterpillars come out of the eggs. They eat a lot, so they soon grow big and fat.

Then the big caterpillars make new homes like this one. They grow into butterflies in their new homes.

When they come out they don't look like caterpillars! They are butterflies with wings now!
