One day the animals in the jungle saw a fire. They were very frightened. They ran to tell Lion. " Do you know what to do?" they asked him. " Go to the waterhole! " said Lion.

Two monkeys went swinging through the trees. The fire was coming fast after them. They went to the waterhole.

Three parrots went flying fast over the trees. The fire came after them. They waited at the waterhole with the monkeys.

Three lizards ran through the trees. The fire came after them. They waited at the waterhole with the other animals.

Then three snakes went sliding through the jungle. The fire was coming fast after them. They went into the water.
