The moon is far away in Space. It is round like a big ball. The moon goes around the Earth.

On some nights, we can see the moon in the sky. On some days, we can see the moon in the sky, too. We always see the same side of the moon.

We can see the moon because the sun lights it up. Sometimes the sun does not light up all of the moon. It only lights up half of the moon or a quarter of the moon. Sometimes it makes the moon look small.

The moon is made of rocks and dust. There are high mountains on the moon. There are holes called craters there, too. The craters were made when big rocks crashed into the moon.

There is no air on the moon. Sometimes it can be very hot there. It can be very cold on the moon, too. People, animals and plants cannot live there.
