猫头鹰日记 · 5 Warm Hearts Day
7 Happy Warm Hearts Day! Saturday I was woken up by Lucy and Hailey bursting through my bedroom door. Yay! It's Warm Hearts Day! Happy Warm Hearts Day, Eva! Oh no! I slept through my alarm! Um... Happy Warm Hearts Day. I tried to sound happy. But I felt bad because I didn't have any presents for my family.
What's wrong, Eva? I didn't get my family any presents. I was so busy making things for my friends, I forgot all about my family! Maybe you could give them the cookies we made? I gave those away to help some animals. And my wing warmers and bag decorations are gone, too. That sounds very kind of you, Eva. Don't worry. I'm sure your family won't mind. They know you love them even without presents.
Come on, Eva. Let's get dressed. That'll make you feel better! Then we can practice the song again! We put on our costumes.
We sang the song. We looked and sounded pretty good. But I only felt a tiny bit better. Then Lucy and Hailey flew home to meet up with their families. Bye, Eva! See you soon at the party!
Grandpa Owlfred and Granny Owlberta came over. They loved my costume! Then it was time to leave for the party. My family flew there together. (Oh, Diary, I felt so bad going empty-winged!)
Excited owls filled every branch of the Old Oak Tree. Mr. Swoopstone stepped up to the microphone. Welcome to our Warm Hearts Day celebration! To start things off. Mrs. Featherbottom's class is going to sing "Frozen Feathers and Fur."
