38. Home Again, Naturally

CHAPTER 38 HOME AGAIN, NATURALLY Suddenly, there was a blinding flash of light. Twenty years flashed forward in an instant, and the empty hilltop was now filled with homes and trees. Old George's and Old Harold's families were all there, too, anxiously waiting for their return. It was a joyful reunion.

"Well," said Harold, "I think we'd better go back home." "You know," said George, "we don't actually have to go home." "What do you mean?" asked Harold. "We've got our own time machine," said George. "We could go anywhere we want! We can explore time together. We can go on awesome new adventures!" "Wow!" said Harold. "That sounds like fun!"

"What should we do first?" asked Harold. "Let's go rescue Crackers and Sulu," said George. The three baby hamsterdactyls flapped their wings with excitement. "How in the world are we ever going to do that?" asked Harold. "We'll figure something out," said George, as he set the controllers. "We always do!" George and Harold and their happy pets waved good-bye to their future families, and together they all disappeared into a ball of brilliant light.
