I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR YOU... Next morning, just as I was leaving for the airport, the phone rang. An excited voice squeaked, "Geronimooo!" It was my Aunt Sweetfur. She lived in a mouse hole a few blocks away. She was always forgetting things like her glasses and her cell phone and her fur brush. But she never forgot my birthday. She was my favorite aunt. "Heeeelp! Help me, Geronimo!" Aunt Sweetfur was shrieking. "My mouse hole is on FIRE!" My whiskers stood on end. "Hold tight, Auntie!" I ordered. "I'm on my way!" I called the fire department. wasn't there yet. What could I do? I was afraid of fire. But I had to be brave. I raced up the wooden staircase, which was already beginning to burn. I spotted Aunt Sweetfur through the thick smoke. "I'm here, Auntie!" I cried. I picked her up. Then I raced back down the stairs. A beam fell from the ceiling, sending sparks flying. BURNING embers grazed my tail. I came out panting. Luckily, Aunt Sweetfur was fine. "Thank you, my darling nephew," she said with a sigh. "You're always there for me when I need you." I smiled. "For you, Auntie, I'd do anything!" I squeaked. And I meant it. After all, I had just walked through fire for her! I headed home. I was in no rush this time. I had already missed my plane ... again.
