29-HALLOWEEN, A YEAR LATER!!!

HALLOWEEN, A YEAR LATER!!! A year has gone by since that crazy Halloween night. Lots of things have happened since. Cannycat Castle has been completely repaired. Every day, there is a line of visitors clamoring to get in. They come to see the beautiful portraits. The antique furniture. The precious jewelry. But most of all, they come to see Pawkin's spooky Halloween magic tricks, Duke Slicedpaw Cannycat's ghost, the mummy, the witch, and the vampire! Pawkin and Pawette Cannycat are two happy cats. Which reminds me. They have become Benjamin's best friends.

As I was saying, today is October thirty- first. Yes, it's Halloween. My family and I are on our way to Cannycat Castle, We're going to spend the night. It has become a Stilton family tradition. Benjamin is super excited. He has been telling me about all of the new scary tricks Pawkin has created. Glow-in-the-dark skeletons, headless ghosts, werecats. It all sounds terribly frightening. of course. I wouldn't tell anyone I am afraid. They would just call me a scaredy mouse. Which really isn't very nice. But I will tell you a little secret. It is true. I hate ghosts and goblins and haunted houses and things that go squeak in the night. Yes, I admit it. I am a scaredy mouse. A perfectly terrified, teeth-chattering, nail-biting scaredy mouse! Oh, how I wish I was home!
