UNCLE GRAYFUR'S STORY We brought Uncle Grayfur back to the boat. Once he was settled, Uncle Grayfur told us his story. "Twenty years ago, I found a SMALL WOODEN BOX washed up on the beach. It held the logbook of Admiral Don Sea Snout III," Uncle Grayfur began. "I decided to go in search of what was left of The Golden Rind. But unfortunately, my ship sank during a terrible storm. My crew left the ship on a lifeboat. But I hung on till the last minute. I was the captain, after all. A captain cannot abandon his ship. "When the boat sank, I managed to cling to a piece of the WRECKAGE. I was tossed
around on the ocean waves like an acrobat at the Big Cheese Circus. Finally, I washed up on this beach. It's a tiny island, but I was able to survive for all these years on coconuts and fish." Aunt Sweetfur KISSED Uncle Grayfur on the snout. "OH, MY POOR SNUFFLE-MOUSE. YOU MUST HAVE MISSED A NICE PIECE OF CHEESE," she said, sighing. Uncle Grayfur kissed her back. "I missed you more than cheese, my sugar-paws," he squeaked.
