老鼠记者 · 25 The Search for Sunken Treasure
THE MYSTERIOUS AMPHORA We all got together to squeak about what to do next. "Let's face it, those diamonds are history," Thea began. "But we still need to explore the wreck. We need more material for our book. I say we dive again tomorrow." We all agreed. Well, all except for Trap, who was too busy sobbing over the lost treasure. It took a pound of Chocolate Cheesy Chews, three bags of cheddar popcorn, and one large mozzarella milk shake to calm him down. The next morning, we dove. Once again, we made our way through the sunken ship. That's when I spotted a strange object
in the galley. It was a huge, cheese-colored, pointed jar with two handles on the side. It had a cork stopper that was covered with yellow wax. Just then, I remembered where I had seen the object before— in my Encyclopedia Ratannica. It was called an amphora. Ancient Greeks used amphoras to hold all different types of liquids.
