25-GRANDFATHER AGAIN???

GRANDFATHER AGAIN??? Days, weeks, months went by. Very early one morning, I was fast asleep under my comfy, cozy blankets, snoring away. Suddenly, the phone rang. Ring! Ring! Ring! I got out of bed half asleep, sinking my paws into my cat-fur rug. Still soft as ever, I thought. I reached for the phone. "Hello! Stilton speaking, Geronimo Stilton," I mumbled. A strangely familiar-sounding voice shrieked back at me. "WAKE UP! WAAAKE UUUUUP!" My ears started ringing like the ice cream

rat's truck in the summertime. "W-who... w-what... who is it?" I stammered. I glanced at the alarm clock. GREASY CAT GUTS! It was two o'clock in the morning! Grandfather William's squeak blasted my eardrum. "Grandson! I'm calling from Timbuktu!" he screamed. "I've just heard that Professor SPITFUR has remembered the secret ingredient. He'll be calling you any minute now. You must interview him immediately! I've booked you a flight to Egypt!" My eyes opened wide. Oh, no, not Dirt cheap Airlines again! I wasn't sure my nerves could stand another flight like that. But Grandfather wasn't talking about a plane this time. It was worse. Much worse. "To save money, you'll be taking a hot-air balloon!" he squeaked.

"Now, get packed and get moving! Remember, time is money and money is time!" Then he slammed the receiver down in my ear. I groaned. Rat-munching rattlesnakes! I was ready to get back under the blankets and go on snoring. But then I saw my pictures of Egypt on my bedside table. I remembered the desert and the sunsets and the pyramids and the camels. OK, so maybe I wasn't so crazy about those camels but I did have one AMAZING ADVENTURE. I pulled out my suitcase and began to pack. Yes, I, Geronimo Stilton, was headed back to Egypt. But that's another story....
