THE EYE OF RA My ears perked up. CHEOPS was one of the great pharaohs of Egypt. The pyramid that Cheops was buried inside was the biggest one ever built! Now I was getting really excited. Mostly because I was going to learn more about an amazing pyramid. But also because a breeze had started blowing, The professor and I were able to take off our clothespins. I rubbed my nose, then continued scribbling in my notebook. "I'm really an Egyptologist," the professor explained. "That means I'm an expert in Egyptian culture. Anyway, one day I was inside the Cheops pyramid, studying some hieroglyphs,
when I got my idea. The ancient writings showed pictures of lots of camels and a sun, It was the eye of Ra. I started thinking about camels and the sun. An idea started buzzing in my head. Maybe the two could work together to make ENERGY!" The professor showed me an old piece of paper covered with painted symbols. There were flowers, boats, crocodiles, owls, even cats. "These are hieroglyphs," he said. Then he scratched his fur. "Say, I have an idea. Would you like to visit CHEOPS's pyramid, Stilton?" he asked. My eyes opened wide. Would a mouse like cheesecake on his birthday? "I sure would!" I squeaked.
