I CAN'T SEE A WHISKER! The cave was DAMP and dark. I couldn't see my own whiskers in front of my snout! It was so dark, I lost track of Benjamin. "Where are you, Nephew?" I cried in a panic, my words echoing in the dark "I'm right behind you, Uncle," Benjamin's voice answered again and again. We held tails so we wouldn't lose track of each other. At that moment, I saw a terrifying sight. Two spooky yellow eyes were looking at us in the dark. They probably belonged to a mouse-eating monster! "RANCID RAT HAIRS!" I shrieked. My voice echoed in the deep,
dark cave. My BLOOD froze in my veins. My whiskers started to tremble. "S-S- Something is w-w-watching us," I told Benjamin. I didn't want to scare him. I mean, he's only nine years old. Still, I thought he should know if we were about to be eaten. But instead of squeaking, my nephew just giggled. "Don't be afraid, Uncle. Those aren't eyes," he explained, "they're the butterfly's wings. They glow in the dark." I looked closer. Benjamin was right. It was the butterfly after all. I felt a little silly for being such a scaredy mouse. But luckily my nephew adores me. He would never make fun of his favorite uncle. The butterfly led us deeper and deeper into the darkness. Now we had to follow it. Its wings were our only light.
