All That Glitters Is Not Gold
The children decided to go home and put their riches into bags. Cy and Bobby put all their gold coins into a backpack. ” How will I know which ones are mine?” asked Bobby. ” It doesn’t matter, ” replied his brother. ” We can share. ” The girls decided to divide their money.
” Panther, that’s my gold coin, ” Jane said, grabbing a coin that fell to the floor. ” No, Jane . It’s mine . It fell out of my pocket, ” argued Panther. She snatched the coin from her little sister and put it into her bag. In town, the children were excited by their new wealth.
” What are you going to buy first?” Bobby asked Cy. ” I’m going to get a hundred games so I won’t ever be bored, ” he answered. “ I’m going to buy a car, ” Bobby said with a sparkle in his eye. ” You can’t drive, ” Jane pointed out.
Bobby shrugged and said, “ Doesn’t matter . I’ll get a driver to drive me around. ” Cy stopped in front of a store. ” Here we are, ” he said. He lifted his hand toward the sign that read “ Game World. ” ” I don’t want to go in that store, ” said Bobby.
” Me neither, ” agreed Jane. " I’m going to Dot’s Dress Shop to look at skirts, ” said Panther. The children began to argue about where to go first . Finally Cy raised both hands and said, “ We can all go wherever we want. We’ll meet here after we’ve been shopping, okay?”
