Puffy Paint Sea Creatures
Izzie and Nina burst into Kids Central. “ Guess what, Miss Shelly! ” Nina said. “ Tomorrow is the fourth-grade field trip! ” “ We’re going to the aquarium, ” Izzie said. “ I can’t wait. ” She spun around on one foot. “ We went last year when we were in fourth grade, ” Jason said. “ It was lots of fun. ”
“ I can’t wait to see all the frogs! ” Izzie said. Jason shook his head. “ They don’t have frogs there, Izzie. Just sea creatures. ” Izzie froze. “ What?” “ No frogs, ” Jason repeated. Izzie hung her head. Nina patted her on the back.
“ Let’s get started on our activity, ” Miss Shelly said. “ We’re actually going to make sea creatures today. ” Bobby pointed to a can of shaving cream on the table. “ Will they have beards?” Miss Shelly laughed. “ Nope. We’re going to use that shaving cream to make puffy paint. ”
“ What’s puffy paint?” Ethan asked. “ My mom and I make puffy paint sometimes, ” Nina said. “ It’s light and foamy. It’s fun to make stuff with puffy paint. ” “ The first step is to put 1/4 cup of white glue in a bowl, ” Miss Shelly said. “ Izzie, can you do that?”
“ Okay, ” Izzie said. “ Now we squirt in some paint, ” Miss Shelly said. Nina squirted pink paint into the glue. She stirred until the mixture was light pink. “ Do we add the shaving cream now?” Jason asked.
