Peanut Butter Dog Treats
Jason walked into the gym and bumped into a tall, young woman. “ Ooph! ” “ Jason, I’d like you to meet Allison. She’s from Penny’s Dog Shelter, ” said Mr. Dunn. “ Penny’s Dog Shelter?” Jason was excited. “ My mom and I like to visit the dogs there. My favorite one is Lucy. But we can’t adopt her. My dad is allergic. ”
Allison smiled. “ I’m sure Lucy enjoys your visits. ” “ And guess what! ” cried Izzie. “ We’re going to visit the shelter tomorrow! ” “ Yeah, ” added Ethan. “ Allison is going to show us how to make dog treats. We can bring them to the dogs tomorrow. ”
“ We’re making peanut butter treats, ” said Allison. “ Because almost all dogs love peanut butter. These treats are really easy to make. They only have four ingredients! ” “ Peanut butter and . . . ?” Izzie began to guess. “ And water, whole wheat flour, and oats, ” said Allison.
“ Can you preheat the oven to 175 degrees, Mr. Dunn?” “ Yes, ” said Mr. Dunn. “ First we mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl, ” said Allison. “ We need two cups of flour and one cup of oats. ” Ethan and Bobby measured the dry ingredients.
“ Now we have to spray the measuring cup with oil. ” Allison said. “ So the peanut butter will come out more easily! ” Mr. Dunn knew what to do next. “ Nina, can you please get one and a quarter cups of hot water?” Jason dumped the peanut butter into a bowl. Then Nina added the hot water while Jason stirred.
