“ Eww! ” A worker at Trends Department Store was dressing mannequins. “ This is an ugly blouse. ” She put a jacket on another mannequin. “ This jacket is ugly too. No one will buy it! ” Creak. The worker spun around. “ Who’s there?” Mannequins stood all around her.

She laughed. “ Silly me, ” she told herself. “ I’m the only one here. Well, except for the—” A plastic hand grabbed her shoulder. She screamed. “ Ahh! ”

Jack groaned. “ Sophie, why are we here?” Sophie laughed. “ Don’t complain, Jack. You’re spending time withyou’re your favorite big cousin! ” It was Fashion Week in Metro City. Roxy and her friends were at a fashion show. Music blasted as models walked up and down the runway.

“ Thanks for bringing us here, Sophie, ” Mara said. “ Jack said you study fashion design in college?” Sophie nodded. “ I love fashion! Oh! Look at that scarf! ” One model wore a long purple scarf. Another model wore a pink sweater and huge sunglasses.

“ I like those sunglasses, ” Mara said. Just then a third model walked by. She wore a dress covered in feathers. Mara snorted. “ I don’t think I like that. ” Sophie grinned. “ I love it! ” Jack yawned. “ I don’t care about fashion. ”
