Jack was still trying to balance the pencil on his nose. Roxy tapped Terrell’s shoulder. He turned around. “ There’s a problem in the museum, ” Roxy whispered. “ I’ll be back. ”

Roxy found Detective Smith in the North American wing. He was talking to a guard. “ Hey, Detective, ” Roxy said. “ Is your school here on a field trip?” Detective Smith rolled his eyes. “ Very funny, Rocket Girl. I don’t go to school anymore. ”

“ So what’s going on?” Roxy asked. “ Mayor Bloom said a valuable artifact is missing. ” The guard nodded. “ A gold ring is missing. ” She pointed at a glass case. “ It’s usually in there. But now it’s gone. ” A man hurried into the room. “ What’s going on?”

The guard looked nervous. “ Professor Beard, ” she said. “ The gold ring is missing. I called the police. ” Professor Beard chuckled. “ Don’t be silly. Nothing is missing. ” “ Huh?” Detective Smith raised an eyebrow. The guard frowned. “ The ring is always in that case. ”

“ Nonsense! ” Professor Beard said. “ There’s no ring! ” Roxy looked at the professor. Then she looked at the guard. “ Who’s telling the truth?” she thought. “ Are you serious, Professor?” The guard looked angry now. “ There’s even a sign with information about the gold ring! ” She pointed at a small sign on the case.
