“ Let’s go for a walk, Buster, ” a man said. He put a leash on his dog. They went outside. A big, creepy plant grew in the man’s front yard. “ Oh my! ” he said. “ Where did that strange plant come from?” He stepped closer. Suddenly the plant opened a large mouth.

“ Oh no! ” the man cried out. Gulp! “ I’m so glad it’s Friday, ” Mara said. Roxy and her friends were walking home from school. “ Me too, ” Jack said. “ I can’t believe we had three quizzes in one day. ”

Suddenly Terrell pointed. “ What is that?” Everyone looked. A creepy plant was growing next to someone’s house. “ Wow, ” Mara said. “ That looks like something from another planet. ” “ There’s a plant like that in my backyard, ” Jack said. “ It’s a lot bigger though.

My mom was wondering what it is. We have a vegetable garden. But we didn’t plant anything like that. ” Roxy looked at the plant closely as she walked past it. “ I wonder what kind of plant it is. ” Terrell laughed. “ Maybe it’s an alien plant! ” He held out his arms to look like claws.

“ Look out, Mara! The alien plant is coming after you! ” Mara rolled her eyes. “ You’re ridiculous, Terrell. ” Jack kept walking. “ Come on, ” he said. “ When we get to my house, I’ll show you my plant. ” A moment later they got to Jack’s house.
