I have to get to Metro City Park, ” Roxy thought. “ Someone just attacked workers there. ” Roxy looked at her friends. “ I’ll be right back. I’m going to go, um, look at the owls again! ” When Roxy landed in Metro City Park, she saw some workers. Broken saws and rope lay in the grass.

A bucket truck was parked nearby. Its tires were flat, and its windows were smashed. Its crane was bent. “ Wow, ” Roxy thought. “ Why would someone do this?” Detective Smith was looking at some trees. Vultures were perched on the branches.

“ So, Detective, ” Roxy said with a grin. “ Do the vultures know who attacked the workers?” Detective Smith groaned. “ Very funny, Rocket Girl. Those are the trees the workers were going to cut down. ”

A worker walked over to DetectiveSmith and Roxy. “ I’m Earl, ” he said. “ I’m the supervisor. ” “ What happened here?” Detective Smith asked. Earl scratched his head. “ Well, we came here to cut down those trees. But then a flying person attacked us. ” “ Why were you cutting down the trees?” Roxy asked.

“ Vultures perch in them, ” Earl said. “ Residents near here don’t want vultures around. ” Roxy was confused. “ What’s wrong with vultures? They’re just birds. ” Earl shrugged. “ The residents say the vultures are creepy. ”
