The Night Before Christmas
It was the night before Christmas. Our house was decorated with beautiful decorations. We had stockings, a Christmas tree, and a beautiful wreath on the door. My younger sister was sound asleep. My parents were sleeping too. I had just put on my pajamas and was about to go to bed. Then, all of a sudden, I heard a noise coming from outside.
I ran to the window and opened the curtains as fast as I could. I could see our town covered in snow and lit up with bright Christmas lights. Then I saw it—I mean, him—flying in the sky. It was Santa Claus and his reindeer. I could hear Santa calling each of his reindeer by name: “ Now, Dasher! Now, Dancer!
Now, Prancer and Vixen! On, Comet! On, Cupid! On, Donner and Blitzen! To the top of the porch, to the top of the wall! ” Then Santa landed on my roof. I crept down to the living room and waited for Santa to come down the chimney. He was dressed all in red, and he carried a red bag full of toys. He had a big, round belly that looked like it was full of jelly. “ Ho, ho, ho! ”
As soon as he landed, he got straight to work. He filled all the stockings with candies and goodies, and put wonderful presents under the tree. Then he went to the fireplace. Then, poof, he went up the chimney. As quick as I could, I ran back up the stairs. Looking out my window, I saw Santa jump into his sleigh.
Then I heard him yell as he flew away: “ Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night! ”
