We Speak Many Languages

At school we speak English. But we speak many other languages too.

Mrs. Berman is from Germany. “ Good morning, class, ” she says. “ Good morning, ” we say in German. " Guten Morgen! ”

Koji's grandfather is from Japan. He visits our classroom. We say “ welcome” in Japanese. " Yokoso. ”

Mr. Como is from Italy. He is our music teacher. We sing “ hello” in Italian. “ Ciao! ”

David is from China. He brings dumplings from home. We say “ thank you” in Chinese. " Xie-xie. ”

Jane's friend lives in France. Jane teaches us words in French. Au revoir means “ good-bye. ”
