火箭女孩 · Rocket Girl
Yo-ho-ho!
Roxy called to her friends. They were farther up the trail. “ I’ll be back in a minute! I still can’t find my water bottle! ” “ Wait! ” Terrell called back. “ We can help—” Before Terrell could finish, Roxy ran off. A moment later she shot through the sky.
“ Whoa! ” Mara cried. “ Rocket Girl! ” Terrell shook his head. “ Roxy is never around when we see Rocket Girl. ” Roxy arrived at True Savings Bank. Police cars were parked in front. Inside, Detective Smith was standing behind the counter.
“ Hello, sir, ” Roxy said. “ I’d like to open a bank account. ” Detective Smith frowned. “ Very funny, Rocket Girl. But we have a crime to solve. This bank was robbed. ” “ I know, ” Roxy said. “ Do you know who the robber is?” Detective Smith shook his head.
“ I just got here a moment ago. I’m looking for clues. ” “ It wasn’t just one robber. ” A security guard stomped over. “ There was a whole group of them. They were horrible—dirty and smelly and mean! ” Detective Smith took his small notebook from his pocket. “ Can you describe what they looked like?”
The security guard nodded. “ The boss wore a large hat and has a hook for a hand. A parrot was sitting on her shoulder. It kept saying ‘Yo-ho-ho! ’” Detective Smith raised an eyebrow. “ Yo-ho-ho?” “ That’s right, ” the security guard said. “ Yo-ho-ho. ”
