Escape!

It was late at night. A prison bus waited outside Metro City Prison. A guard came out of the prison and looked around. “ It’s all clear. Bring out the prisoner. ” Another guard came out. A clown in handcuffs stood next to her. Suddenly several figures jumped out of the darkness.

“ Oh no! ” the first guard cried. “ More clowns! ” “ I am not looking forward to school today, ” Jack said. “ We’re going to be stuck in class all day! ” Roxy and her friends were walking to school.

Mara scratched her head. “ I thought a magician was coming today. He was going to do a magic show for the entire school. ” “ Didn’t you get the email from Principal Penn last night?” Terrell asked. “ The magician has the flu, so there’s no show today. ”

Mara frowned. “ That stinks. ” “ I hope the magician gets better soon, ” Jack said. “ Maybe he can make all of our teachers disappear! ” He and Terrell laughed. Mara shook her head and sighed. “ Maybe we can get a magician to make you two disappear. ”

Mara pretended to wave a magic wand at Terrell and Jack. “ Abracadabra, poof! ” Roxy laughed. “ Now that would be funny! ” “ I’d like to see an escape act, ” Jack said. “ Once I saw a guy escape on TV. He was tied up in a big glass tank.
