Fairy Grove was green and peaceful. The meadow near it was not. A big machine was digging. Workers were shouting.

The fairies watched from a tree branch. Feather frowned. “ Humans are ruining the meadow. They’re digging up all the pretty flowers. ”

Hob shrugged. “ They’re building a big playground. Playgrounds are fun. ” Sprite nodded. “ I love slides! ” Feather shook her head. “ Playgrounds are noisy. ”

Bumble bit his lip. “ What if the humans at the playground see us? They might find Fairy Grove and—oops! ” He almost fell off the branch.

Sprite laughed. “ Relax, Bumble. We’ll be safe. ” “ Humans can’t find Fairy Grove, ” Hob said. “ It’s hidden by magic. ”
