The Chinese New Year

Today my family is going to Chinatown. It’s the Chinese New Year. So we will see a parade!

First my brother and I spot some sweets. Mom buys a few for us. “ Mmm! ” I say. “ Delicious! ”

Next we hear some drummers. We clap when the drummers play Chinese music.

Whoa! Here comes a dancing dragon! Dad says dragons are special in China. They bring good luck in the new year.

Then acrobats spin plates round and round. I worry that one will fall! But the acrobats are amazing. They don’t drop any plates at all!

Later Chinese lanterns glow in the night. Mom says they are beautiful. They’re my favorite thing until I see something else.
