Pizza for Earth Day

Megan was brushing her teeth. She left the water running.

Sam banged on the door. “ It’s Earth Day! ” he said. “ Don’t waste water! ”

Downstairs Dad collected bottles. Mom collected paper. “ Recycling is good for the earth, ” said Dad.

After breakfast Megan gathered food scraps.

She and Dad took them outside to the compost. “ Compost is good for our garden, ” said Dad.

Megan saw a strange box in the yard. “ What’s that box?” asked Megan. “ You'll see later, ” said Dad with a wink.
