A Scary Mask

Oliver made a scary mask. “ Everyone will be afraid of me! ” he said happily. First he tried to scare Harry and Emmy.

But it didn’t work. “ Nice mask, Oliver, ” Harry said. “ Pretty colors! ” Emmy said.

Next Oliver tried to scare Dad and Mom. “ Hello, Oliver! ” Dad gave him a hug. “ Time for dinner, Oliver, ” Mom said. Oliver sighed.

After dinner Oliver put on his mask again. He brought Rover outside to play. “ Boo! ” Oliver tried to scare Rover. But Rover just licked the mask.

Oliver frowned. “ This mask isn’t scary at all, ” he said. Oliver tossed the mask on the ground.

Soon it was almost dark. “ Time to go inside, ” Oliver said. He went to the front door. It was locked.
