Playing Basketball

Dad was in the driveway. He was setting up a basketball hoop. “ That looks like fun! ” Mom said.

Harry tossed the basketball at the hoop. He missed, and the ball rolled away.

Oliver and Rover got the ball. Harry tried again and missed. “ This is too hard! ” he said.

“ Let me have a turn, ” Emmy said. But she couldn’t score either. “ This is too hard! ” she said.

“ I’ll show you, ” Dad said. He bounced the ball off the backboard. It went right into the basket. “ You just need to practice, ” he said.

Dad made a slam dunk. “ Let’s play a game, ” Mom said to him. “ The first one to make five shots wins. ” Mom won the first game.
