Valentine's Day

“I see the Valentine's Day cards,” Mom said. The Carter family was at the store. They were shopping for cards. Everything was pink or red.

Hearts were everywhere. Harry groaned. “Valentine's Day is so dumb.” “Oh, come on, Harry.” Emmy giggled. “Don't you have a valentine?”

“No!” Harry made a face. “Gross!” Most cards came with stickers or candy. Oliver found some with gel pens.

Mom shook her head. “Those are too expensive.”

“Did you find any cards, Harry?” Dad asked. “No,” Harry said. “All these cards have goofy hearts.”

Emmy picked out one big card. “Who's that for?” Oliver asked. Emmy blushed. “I'm not telling you.”
