Garden Harvest

It was summer. “ Our garden looks great, ” Mom said. “ We’ll have lots of vegetables this year! ”

Soon the carrots grew. So did the beans and strawberries. Then corn and tomatoes started growing.

Every day the family went to the garden. Every night they ate salad and other vegetables. They froze some of them. But there were still more to harvest!

“ I’m tired of going to the garden, ” Harry said. “ Me too, ” Oliver said. Dad sighed. “ Gardens are a lot of work. ”

“ Mmm! ” Mom said. “ These vegetables are delicious! ” Everything kept growing. “ What will we do with all of this food?” Oliver asked.

“ I know! ” Emmy said. She told everyone her idea.
