The Fire Drill

The family was in the kitchen. Mom was cooking dinner. “ How was school today?” Dad asked. “ We had a fire drill, ” said Emmy.

“ Everybody had to walk outside, ” said Harry. “ Hmm, ” said Dad. “ We should have a family fire drill. ”

" Yes! " said Mom. " Let's have a fire drill before dinner. "

“ What should we do?” Emmy asked. Dad pointed to the smoke alarm. “ I‘ll make the smoke alarm go off, ” he said. “ Then we’ll walk outside to a safe place. ”

“ Let’s go to the tree house! ” Oliver said. “ Good idea! ” Dad said. “ Get ready, everybody! ”
